"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and...

"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, . . . who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases" (Ps. 103:1-3). With great gratitude I can repeat the words of the Psalmist.

Christian Science came to me at a time when I was not making much of a success at farming. I had been praying earnestly to know what I should do. A friend lent me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I had not read far before I knew that I had found the truth. The desire for tobacco left me with my first reading of Science and Health, and the understanding that God is the source of all supply enabled me to leave my farm free of debt and to obtain employment in quite another sphere of activity.

I should like to relate a healing that took place while I was farming. The farm came under an irrigation project, and on a day when I was to irrigate my orchard, my head African laborer came to me and asked if it would be possible to postpone the irrigation for a day or so because his back was sore. I replied that I would see what could be done. Then I rode off on my horse to see if I could find the supervisor who had charge of the irrigation in my section.
