I began to attend the Christian Science Sunday School when I was a child, and I have known no other religion since. I became a member of a Church of Christ, Scientist, in our city, and I am grateful for the privilege of serving our Cause both in the Sunday School and in the church. The preventive as well as the curative benefits of the truth as taught in Christian Science have been proved to me, and until one night in February, 1953, I had never been sick except with some minor ailments.

On that night I awakened shortly after midnight and felt that something was wrong with me. In the morning I called a Christian Science practitioner, and she gave me several references in the Christian Science textbook. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I received help, but later I was forced to go to bed. After some mental probing I found such poisonous thoughts as hatred, malice, and a desire for revenge holding out in my thinking. One night thereafter I awakened to find that I could not swallow. My husband called the practitioner, and before he left the telephone I felt something let go in my throat.

After that I started to eat and began to improve, but for several days I could not get onto my feet. It began to dawn upon me that I would not be well until I purified my thinking and cleansed my mind of the evil thoughts that I had been harboring about people. The practitioner patiently helped me to stay on the right path, to know that God is my Life, and to see that man as God's image and likeness can express only good at all times. I began to improve mentally and physically, and soon I was well.
