God's Word, when it is purely spoken,
Transforms the mind or spirit broken,
And even when the words are few
Tenderness Love's work will do.

The Christly love that quiets pain
Restores our sense of health again,
While tenderness, the way of Soul,
Forever comforts and makes whole.
