Periodically I have found it a good idea to contemplate how much the study and application of the truths of Christian Science have enriched and blessed my life. It has been encouraging and inspiring to note that from the very start an increasing understanding of Christian Science has brought good into my experience. This was first evident in the raising of my scholastic standing to that of a student who was consistently on the honor roll. Also, through the years poise and an increasing sense of joy and spontaneity have unfolded.

My gratitude is great for the good health I have experienced. And I am equally grateful for the efficacy of Christian Science when it has been necessary to apply it to some inharmonious condition which has arisen.

One incident occurred when I was alone in a strange country. I awoke feeling ill, and the symptoms were rather frightening. My first thought was to telephone a Christian Science practitioner for help. However, I hesitated to call because I was not sure that any of the practitioners in that city spoke English, and I did not speak the language of that country. So I began to handle the inharmonious condition, as we are taught in Christian Science, knowing that infinite Truth was right there with me. After fifteen or twenty minutes I fell asleep. When I awoke about an hour later, I was completely free and was able to carry on with a busy day of sightseeing.
