My family turned to Christian Science...
My family turned to Christian Science when a doctor said that I could not live through the effects of a severe case of whooping cough. My parents knew little about this religion; but they decided to call a practitioner, and she assured my mother that I would be all right. At the end of three days I suddenly jumped out of my mother's arms, ran to the other end of the house, and began to play about the rooms. There was no more coughing. Also when I scarlet fever after being given up by the attending physician.
I attended a Christian Science Sunday School off and on during my school days, but did not become a serious student of this Science until after I was married and our first child was two years old. One of the first things I knew I had to give up was the smoking habit of twelve years' standing. This healing was slow, but when I finally took my stand, the healing was completed, and gratitude filled my heart.
