I am one who has had hearing...
I am one who has had hearing restored through Christian Science. Because of this healing, I feel that I am under as direct command as were the followers of John when Jesus said to them (Luke 7:22): "Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached."
The defect in hearing, the result of an accident, had been present since I was a little girl. Christian Science was unknown to me at the time. The condition was further complicated when I had influenza during World War I. According to a medical diagnosis the influenza settled in my right ear and caused what was termed mastoid trouble. The physician predicted that an operation on the ear would be necessary. Although Christian Science had yet come to my attention, consent was given for the operation.
