Brentwood, Missouri (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Brentwood, will dedicate its church edifice at 2320 Brentwood Boulevard in two special services tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 3.30 p.m.

The building formerly Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, was purchased in January, 1952....

The congregation had its beginnings in November, 1943, after a group of seven Christian Scientists met to discuss the need for a Christian Science church in Brentwood. A week later, seven more persons joined the group, which began to hold Sunday evening services in members homes with various members alternating as Readers.

Beginning in March, 1944, services were held in the Brentwood Congregational Church. In January, 1947, the group of twentyone members was recognized as a Christian Science Society by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

In February, 1950, services were held in the Brentwood Masonic Temple, newly completed at 8756 Eulalie Avenue, and Sunday School classes were begun....

The first Sunday service was held in the present building on February 10, 1952, and a Christian Science Reading Room was opened to the public.
