TRUE SATISFACTION

"I Shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness" (Ps. 17:15). These words of the Psalmist describe true satisfaction and are well worth pondering. From a human standpoint, to be awake is to be aware of things taking place in our surroundings. In a spiritual sense true wakefulness is consciousness of our genuine selfhood, our individual expression of infinite intelligence, God, an expression that is perfect because God is perfect.

Christ Jesus was always conscious of his true selfhood, his oneness, or unity, with God. In "No and Yes" Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 36), "Jesus' true and conscious being never left heaven for earth."

Because he abode continuously in the atmosphere of spiritual harmony, Jesus could not experience anything but complete satisfaction. Being conscious of complete satisfaction, he presented the evidence which was harmonious not only to himself but to those around him and which caused them to enjoy the same sense of harmony. Christian Science brings to light the truth of man's existence in Spirit, and through the study and application of this Science all may gain true satisfaction.
