HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS January 12, 1957 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM No. 173 - Life Is God

Charlotte Miller

Speaker: Our guest today was healed of a condition, which had been termed incurable, when she learned the true meaning, the real, spiritual significance of these three words: "Life is God." We're glad to welcome to our program Mrs. Charlotte Miller of New York City. Are you a native of New York, Mrs. Miller?

Mrs. Miller: No, I was born in Hungary, but I came to the United States in 1913. And for eight years I was a semi–invalid. During this time I underwent a major operation for a cancerous organic condition. This was followed by weekly experimental treatment in the hospitals, where I was under the strictest diets and subjected to much drugging. But the eminent surgeon and the kind medical doctors who attended me offered no hope for my recovery, since the disease kept on spreading. Finally I became too weak to be about my household duties and was confined to bed.

Through our little son, a neighbor sent me a book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It was in scribed, "With love." I had never heard of Christian Science and had no faith in any religion. The book lay on my night table for some time, unused. During this period I suffered more acutely from my wish to live and bring up our child than from my unhealed condition.
