About forty–five years ago Christian Science was presented to me by a neighbor. She knew I was not strong and did not feel well much of the time. She gave me some copies of the Sentinel to read, and later I obtained the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I found it the most interesting book I had ever read. All these years since, I have studied Science and Health and endeavored to live its precepts.

At times there have been great struggles which demanded strict adherence to the teachings of Mrs. Eddy, as stated in the textbook. I found that I could never deviate from Principle but had to keep on the straight line of Truth in order to receive God's direction and His unfailing support. He has never failed me. The prayerful work of practitioners who have stood by me has given me courage to go on and up. All five of my children have had Christian Science. I do not know how I could have raised them without the help of this Science to bless my endeavors and give me strength.

A number of years ago I was severely tried with arthritis. This disease caused me great trouble, and my feet became deformed. But I learned to walk with God, and step by step through His love and sustaining goodness I gained my freedom.
