Since I first began to study Christian Science in 1922, I have received many blessings. The first healing was that of a functional difficulty which was causing a poisonous condition. All medicine was discarded, and a Christian Science practitioner was asked to take up prayerful work for me. In two or three treatments the healing was completed, and harmony was restored.

Colds had been a big problem to me, because they recurred several times a year, and getting rid of them was a long-drawn-out process. This problem had been going on for some ten years, and I had a great fear of both colds and cold sores. After I began to study Christian Science I had a cold which was more severe than any I had had before, and it was accompanied by cold sores. I turned from the physical evidence as much as I could and began to study the Lesson-Sermon for that week in the Christian Science Quarterly. Then I turned to the chapter on Fruitage in the back of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The testimonies in it were very helpful and inspiring to me, and before I had read many of them, I realized I was completely healed of both the cold and cold sores. Since then colds have become less and less alarming to me and are now quickly overcome.

Another healing I have been very grateful for was that of colitis, accompanied by an extreme nervous condition. I had to clear out much resentment, hatred, and self-pity from my thoughts. I had mistakenly thought it was because of the faults of others that I was suffering, but when I awakened to the fact that it was my own wrong thinking about others that was causing my problems, I quickly changed my thinking and refused to accept anything but good in my thoughts. Then my healing came. I had to learn that error is only a belief of mortal mind and not a person and that even mortal mind is not real, for God made everything good.
