"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases" (Ps. 103: 13). How often I pondered those words before I was able to prove them through Truth as taught in Christian Science!

When I first heard of Christian Science I was very much opposed to it. However, I saw my brother healed of typhoid fever almost instantaneously through Christian Science, and other wonderful proofs of God's power followed. One of them happened after our five-year-old daughter became ill. I put her to bed and called a doctor, who diagnosed the case as pneumonia. He said he did not expect her to live through the night.

As soon as he had left, our daughter said, "Mamma, get the Bible and read it to me." The only part of the Bible we had was the New Testament. As soon as I started reading it to the child, she quieted down and went to sleep. When she awoke she was healed.

My first healing was of a physical difficulty of several years' standing. In a Sentinel, I read a testimony telling of the healing of a similar condition through the application of the truth in a Scriptural passage. I got the Bible and found the book and chapter referred to in the testimony. As I read the passage I felt a sense of freedom. Just then I was called out of the room. When I came back I felt as though I were simply floating on air. I thought, "Well, is this what Christian Science is?" The difficulty was healed, and I began to earnestly study Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I am still doing this and thanking God for every proof I have of the truth.

I have had the privilege of class instruction and have been able to help others along the way. For this I am more grateful than words can express. Grief was healed at the passing of a loved one when I saw that he was really the image of Mind, Spirit, Love, Truth. Nothing that God gives had been taken from me, and with this realization I felt no loss. I had never felt God's presence and power so clearly before. The peace that came to me then still abides with me day and night, and I am profoundly grateful.
