ONE YOU, NOT TWO

In the first chapter of Genesis (verse 27) it is declared that "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." In accordance with this and other equally positive Scriptural statements, Christian Science teaches that man is spiritual, not material. Real sonship emanates from one perfect Father-Mother God. God is the only source of being. His creation, including all ideas, is the complete, spiritual reflection or expression of Himself.

All identities, which range from the infinitesimal to infinity, are included in this complete reflection. The individual purpose and character of each are sustained and maintained eternally in Spirit.

In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says (p. 333), "The one Spirit includes all identities." And again on pages 502 and 503 she asserts: "There is but one creator and one creation. This creation consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and forever reflected."
