I wish to express my deep gratitude...

I wish to express my deep gratitude for the omnipotence and omnipresence of our dear God. From the teaching I received in the Sunday School, I learned that He is a God at hand. Daily study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly has kept that truth before my thought.

Some time ago I had an opportunity to demonstrate this nearness and ever-protective power of the Almighty. One rainy evening, when I was expecting a baby within four months, my husband and I were traveling in our automobile to a friend's home. As we were crossing a busy intersection, the car was hit by another with such force that our automobile was spun around, and I was thrown out onto the wet pavement.

I was unconscious for only a moment or two, and upon awakening I found myself declaring aloud that I was cradled in God's arms. We immediately called a practitioner, who lovingly worked for me, and after four days' rest at my mother's home, I returned to my own home and to my normal household duties. We told no one the immediate family of the incident, and we all praised God for His ever-present care and love. Neither my husband nor I suffered any ill effects. The birth of our baby was harmonious, and the child was entirely normal.
