Christian Science came into my life when everything I had believed in had failed. I was weak and ill, lack dogged my steps, and my small son was under the constant care of physicians. A governess on a neigh-boring farm offered me the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and also offered to treat me in Christian Science. I was so ill that I was ready to try any-thing, and I accepted both the text-book and her help.

A new world opened up to me through my study of Science and Health. I read this precious book day and night until I had read it through. Then I rose from my sickbed well and free and went for a two-mile walk with the friend who had introduced me to Christian Science. All my medicines, which were many, were thrown away, and I decided that from then on I would depend only on God. Every ailment from which I had suffered, even to the corns on my feet, had been healed while I was reading that wonderful textbook. The world was a beautiful place, filled with the love of God.

My son grew to young manhood, experiencing very few of the socalled children's diseases. Lack departed when I saw that in reality good is always with us and that it is being manifested in ever-present abundance. Diseases that have been healed in my family include pneumonia, appendicitis, influenza, constipation, and some diseases of which we did not know the names.
