Gratitude and love for Christian Science...

Gratitude and love for Christian Science and for our leader, Mrs. Eddy, who gave to the world her discovery of this Science, prompt me to give this testimony.

The first healing in our family was that of one of my brothers. When a young boy he fell from the third story of a building to the ground and was badly injured. During a period of suffering, uncertainty, and predictions of invalidism, Christian Science was presented to our family. Because of my parents' deeply religious feeling they were willing to see what this Science could do to help my brother.

The textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was purchased and read. In addition, a Christian Science practitioner was engaged. As a result my brother was completely healed. He later attended college and took part in normal activities. After this healing my parents and all five of their children became interested in Christian Science. It became our family religion, and I accepted it as such. Finally, however, I realized that Christian Science cannot be inherited, but that it is a Science which must be studied and understood by every individual who lives its precepts with sincerity.
