RIGHT REASONING

"For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence." This challenging statement appears on page 492 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Reasoning that dwells on material evidence is always inaccurate and undependable. Therefore it is to be cast aside and exchanged for that reasoning which is based on the truths of divine Mind, God.

Right reasoning aids healing, because it coincides with the revelation of our real selfhood which, according to Christian Science, is the image and likeness of God. In reality man is just as perfect now as he always has been. The real man needs no healing. But this spiritual fact must be acknowledged, and as we grow into a constant recognition of our spiritual status, our lives reflect the fullness and joy of perfection in every detail.
