Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, writes on page 259 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" as follows: "The Christ-like understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea,—perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration." This statement has proved helpful in my experiences.

When I was a young girl, Christian Science was introduced to me, and I attended the Sunday School and also the church services. However, when I married I drifted away from Christian Science. Several years ago I felt that everything in my life was at a very low ebb. My two sons were in the armed forces overseas, an elderly member of the family was seriously forgetful, and my work was exacting and required many hours of overtime. In addition my doctor advised that I had a serious kidney infection and that I was a very sick woman. I was filled with self-pity.

Then the angel thought came that the answer to my needs would be received through the application of Christian Science. Immediately I turned conscientiously to the daily study of the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy. With the help of a consecrated practitioner, I saw my burdens melt away as mist before the sun, and I gained the wealth of a peaceful mind. As a consequence of the prayerful work done for me, my two sons returned home in normal health, a lovely home was made available for the elderly person, and a new position with regular hours and no cut in salary was secured. Moreover, the kidney infection disappeared, and I was filled with joy.
