Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, writes on page 259 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" as follows: "The Christ-like understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea,—perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration." This statement has proved helpful in my experiences.

When I was a young girl, Christian Science was introduced to me, and I attended the Sunday School and also the church services. However, when I married I drifted away from Christian Science. Several years ago I felt that everything in my life was at a very low ebb. My two sons were in the armed forces overseas, an elderly member of the family was seriously forgetful, and my work was exacting and required many hours of overtime. In addition my doctor advised that I had a serious kidney infection and that I was a very sick woman. I was filled with self-pity.
