Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes (Science and Health, p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." Because of this statement, I was enabled to take a firm stand for Truth, knowing that God alone is all power and that error, or evil, is nothing.

I was awakened one night with a disturbing stomach disorder. The condition appeared so overwhelming that a practitioner was called. It was a healing which required standing fast for all that is true and rejecting whatever is false. With the patient guidance of the practitioner I was encouraged to look away from matter and to behold the perfect man. Mrs. Eddy tells us (ibid., pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick." The family sang songs and rejoiced, praising God for His many wonderful blessings, even though the healing was not yet evident. During the second week my bowels began to function harmoniously, and food once again was normally digested. A couple of days later a large gallstone passed painlessly. Improvement from then on was rapid, and the healing was complete.

Three years ago we were desirous of selling our house. The suggestion was silenced that there would be no buyer for the property, and it was sold within the week for the price asked. There was a beautiful unfoldment of home in a most desirable neighborhood. I felt very close to God and better understood the Bible verse (Isa. 65:24), "Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."
