TRUTH'S CLEAR VISION

"God saw" (Gen. 1:4). This is the first mention of sight in the Bible. God sees Himself, and His own universe and man as the manifestation of His own perfection, harmony, and well-being. This seeing is eternal and indestructible.

Mary Baker Eddy in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," gives Truth as one of the synonyms for God, and the work of the student of Christian Science is to see what is true in connection with every aspect of daily living, for this is how divine healing is accomplished. Christ Jesus made a wonderful promise when he said (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." True knowing or seeing is coupled with definite freedom from that which is untrue. Truth knows only that which is true. A lie, the opposite of truth, can always be proved powerless, for as Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 475), "To Truth there is no error,—all is Truth."

Before knowing of Christian Science we accepted the evidence of the physical senses, having been educated to believe that we are now material, and that one day, when we have passed this present stage, we shall know more of our real selves. But Christian Science teaches that God is Soul and demonstrates the spiritual sense with which we are able to comprehend the Science of being.
