"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" (Ps. 107:8.) Christian Science came to me when I was in great need, and I clung to it with all my heart. I can never be grateful enough for all the good that has come to me through the study and application of this wonderful truth.

Many healings have come to me by studying this statement by Mrs. Eddy on page 475 of Science andHealth: "Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements. The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God." These words have helped me to see that there are no material elements in the man of God's creating, but only perfect qualities, such as love, kindness, compassion, and patience.

I should like to tell of one of the many healings I have had. While boarding a streetcar on my way home, I felt a pain in my right side so severe that I nearly screamed. I immediately began repeating "the scientific statement of being" (ibid., p. 468) and allowed nothing else to come into my thought. On arriving home I telephoned a practitioner, as the pain was intense. She immediately asked me to hold to the thought that God is All. Then I realized that since God is All, without an opposite, He must be the only cause; therefore pain is without a cause. It was clear to me that because God is everywhere, pain is nowhere.
