POWER AND PRESENCE

How strong the voice of Truth?
Uttered and understood it can with its might
Break off resisting shackles of self-will,
Release from sinful bondage, put to flight
Pretense of fear, make boast of pride be still.

How gentle Love divine?
Coming with unassuming, tenderest touch,
Its quiet presence stirs the waking heart.
Dissolving doubt, it brings assurance such
That earth-dreams break and songs of healing start.
