In the Gospel of Mark is recorded...

In the Gospel of Mark is recorded the story of blind Bartimaeus, who sat by the road begging. When he heard that Christ Jesus was passing by, he cried out to the Master, who had him called to his side. The account continues (Mark 10:50), "And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus." Thereupon he received the Master's blessing for his faith, and his sight was restored.

Like Bartimaeus, I too had to cast away my garment of self-pity and doubt and clothe myself in love and trust when I came into Christian Science. Never a strong child, I had been intermittently under the care of doctors.

After my marriage I had several years of semi-invalidism, although a number of doctors tried to help me. All of them came to the same conclusion concerning me: several of the internal organs were in a state of prolapse. During this time I was hospitalized several times because of complications resulting from the loss of a child, and my health became severely impaired.
