Many of our readers may be surprised when they find there are people who do not wish to have medical treatment and who decline to undergo an operation. Nevertheless, the law in such matters entitles anyone who is of age and of sound mind to have whatever kind of treatment he desires. Christian Scientists probably form the largest class of such persons; though it should be added that they are scrupulous in obeying statutory obligations as to the reporting of contagious diseases and the like.

The following brief notes on Christian Science by the District Manager of the Christian Science Committees on Publication for Great Britain and Ireland, written on request of the Editor, will perhaps enable an intelligent attitude to be taken towards these people.
