Christian Science has been an ever-present help to me since childhood, but I feel I am only now becoming truly aware of what a precious gift this religion is to mankind. I have seen the daily operation of divine Mind in guidance, protection, and healing. The physical healings which I have witnessed have been many, including the instantaneous healing of mumps, as well as healings of other so-called childhood diseases, sprains, burns, grief, and nervous breakdown. I am grateful that my husband is also a student of Christian Science and that we have had the opportunity of establishing a home of peace and freedom in which to raise our children.

May I express special gratitude for a healing in our home which has been inspirational to us all. Our son, when four years of age, complained of fever and illness and was put to bed. I declared the truth to him until he fell asleep. However, when he awakened later, the physical manifestations seemed to be much aggravated, and he complained of severe leg pains, as well as of a headache. I called a practitioner. who came to the house and lovingly took up work for the child. For a day or two we could see no apparent progress.

While I was sitting in the living room with the practitioner one afternoon my husband returned from work. The three of us talked of some of the truths that had been declared and realized that we each had seen some practical proof of each truth mentioned. And we knew that since the law of God is true and operating in one instance, it is true and operating in every instance. We were reminded of the saying of Jesus (Matt. 18:20), "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Just then the bedroom door opened, and our son came out. The fever and illness had left him; he was completely healed. The joy and gratitude which filled our hearts were boundless.
