In writing this testimony I desire...

In writing this testimony I desire to show my gratitude to God for Christian Science and its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy. In her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (Pref., p. vii), we read, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."

I did not know anything about Christian Science until one day when a very serious financial condition arose. As I was returning home from an interview with my attorney this message came to me quite clearly: "Why don't you get the right kind of help?" I went along my way, and a second time I heard the message, "Why don't you get the right kind of help?" This time I answered that I had been to see the best attorney in town.

Becoming startled that someone might have heard me talking to myself, I continued walking along, and a third time I heard the message, "Why don't you get the right kind of help?" This time I replied, "What is the right kind of help?" Instantly the answer came, "See a practitioner." I could not understand this at all, but found myself trying to be obedient. Later a woman who had just rented one of my apartment told me she expected a telephone call and asked if I would mind giving the caller, who was a nurse, the telephone number of the place where she expected to be. I decided to call this nurse and see if she could help me to get a practitioner. With joy I learned that she was a Christian Science nurse, and she told me how I could find a number of Christian Science practitioners in The Christian Science Journal.
