Christian Science came into my...

Christian Science came into my mother's home in 1903. At that time the best physicians available said she could not live ten days longer. Through Science she was instantaneously healed of Bright's disease, heart trouble, and numerous other ailments, and is today a very happy and active person. In my own home we have had many healings, among which were those of infantile paralysis, typhoid fever, a ruptured appendix, diphtheria, and broken bones. Our seven children were raised to manhood and womanhood without medical treatment of any kind.

During World War II, when our four sons were overseas, my husband and I stood firm in knowing that "Life is, always has been, and ever will be independent of matter" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 200). They all returned home safely and in perfect health. The youngest son was on duty with the Navy Air Corps, and although one of his planes was shot down and another sunk, he was beautifully protected. He carried his Bible and Science and Health with him while on duty. Now he is a regular attendant at his branch church in another state.

I am grateful for the understanding that man in God's image does not experience age or retirement but is always active and ready to be about his Father's business. My gratitude is deep for a kind husband who shares the great treasure of Christian Science with me, also for class instruction, for the practitioners, and for the Wartime Ministers. I am especially grateful for Mrs. Eddy, who loved so close to God, for membership in The Mother Church, and for our Christian Science literature. My one desire is to help others as I have been helped and so to have a share in the great work in the Father's vineyard.—(Mrs.)Ruth D. Jackson, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
