WHAT ARE WE WATCHING?

A Writer of a recent magazine article said that businessmen become overworked and suffer physical ills because they watch the clock and calendar more than they watch mental pictures that are pleasant and dear to the heart.

For those who are struggling to meet a deadline or for those who are attempting more work than seems possible to finish there are many mental pictures pleasant to the heart to be found in the Bible. Christ Jesus' promise (Matt. 11:28), "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," brings great comfort and peace to many who are suffering from a sense of strain and pressure. Jesus worked from the standpoint of perfection. Both his human origin and his resurrection from the grave point to the eternality of Life, and his demonstration of unfailing Love includes the remedy for all beliefs of limitation. The disciple John said of Christ Jesus (John 1:12), "As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God."

Christian Science reveals man as the son of God and teaches us how the promises given in the Bible can be fulfilled in our lives. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says (pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appearedto him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick."
