"DRINK YE ALL OF IT"
(Matthew 26:27)
The
cup's depths looked so very deep
And dark, he said that I must drain;
I wanted freedom from my pain,
But felt perhaps the cup could keep.
He said the only way was straight
And narrow that I had to tread—
I wanted wider ways instead;
I thought the narrow way would wait.
Now, having drained the bitter cup,
I find the narrow path holds peace.
From sorrow I have drunk surcease;
And in Christ's upper room would sup.
