When I was six years old I attended a Christian Science Sunday School for the first time. There a loving teacher helped me to realize that God is Mother as well as Father. Until then I had always felt that I missed something which other children possessed, as my mother had passed on when I was two years old. Later my father married a Christian Scientist, and we have all been immeasurably blessed. For the loving guidance which has come through my parents and Sunday School teachers, I am truly grateful.

According to a dentist's report some years ago, my teeth were growing crooked; but through Christian Science help they have grown in a normal way, showing no signs of crookedness. Since my introduction to Christian Science there has been no return of a weak chest, which before that time caused me trouble continually. These healings came about without specific effort on my part. They were the result of my parents' clear understanding of the perfection of man in God's likeness.

Many instances of God's love and guidance have come throughout my school and college years. Protection in air raids was experienced in our home, and at that time the words of the ninety-first Psalm gave us comfort. Jesus' words (John 5: 150), "I can of mine own self do nothing," have given me an insight into the importance of humility. When I have undertaken difficult tasks the realization that it is "the Father that ... doeth the works" (John 14:10) has helped me to rely on His ever-available power.
