THE IMPORTANCE OF HEALING

There is one infinite Mind, or God, perfect, spiritual, and eternal. This is the fact concerning Mind as taught in Christian Science. The Mind which is God is expressed in man. Hence man can know only what is to be found in the perfect, eternal, divine intelligence. The reverse of the divine Mind is termed mortal mind in Christian Science, and this so-called mortal mind is supposed to produce a mortal sense of man outlined as a personality springing from human parentage. This false definition of man is the old man referred to by St. Paul when he says (Eph. 4:22, 23), "Put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind."

This text indicates the remedy for all ills. It shows the necessity of discarding a false sense of man and acknowledging the true idea, or Christ-idea, which expresses spiritual existence.

The divine Mind expresses infinite diversity and individuality. The perfection of its expression is vast and varied, and we can put on—demonstrate—our true manhood only as we understand God, the source and creator of all individuality. Mortal mind is the reverse of Truth but claims diversity and individuality; thus its reversal of Truth is made to appear as differing kinds of evil which seem afflictive to its expression, mortal man. The remedy for the false mortal mind and all its phenomena is the divine Mind and the Christ, or divine manifestation.
