Christian Science came to me...

Christian Science came to me through the mother of a family with whom I lived while I attended school, and I soon had an opportunity to use it. I awoke one morning with a case of measles. At ten o'clock I asked a practitioner for help, was entirely normal by noon, and returned to school in the afternoon. I began attending a Christian Science Sunday School, and I have had every reason to grow more and more grateful to God for revealing this Science to Mrs. Eddy and for her loving and unselfish work in establishing the Church of Christ, Scientist. I know that I have been blessed by every activity of the movement.

Other healings include that of hay fever; the quick removal of a cinder from my eye after material efforts had failed, when the thought came to me that not a single atom in God's universe could ever be out of place; the disappearance of a severely painful corn through absent treatment and the reading of the chapter entitled "Animal Magnetism Unmasked," in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I was also healed, without loss of time from my office work, of injuries received when I was hit by a bicycle rider and thrown backward full length on the pavement. The demonstration began with my immediate refusal to admit any injury to a child of God, and with my gratitude for Love's protection and care for me on my way home. A perfect healing was soon experienced through the faithful study of our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health. Some time after the physical healing was completed, all fear of bicycle riders was eliminated.

Having experienced much happiness and almost constant health and activity, I have a deep sense of gratitude for the protection I have had through Christian Science. I am also grateful for the continuous healing of wrong thinking. One of the most precious healings I have had occurred when I was struck with furious anger, and realizing my need of healing, I humbly prayed, "Dear Father, take this from me." The anger was instantly wiped out, and I have never felt greater freedom and gratitude than at that moment.
