I should like to tell of my experience during a period of economic depression and how, through applying the teachings of Christian Science, I was led from lack to the blessings only God can give.

At the time, I lived in a northern state and had lost the money which I had in a bank and also my home. My young daughter and I went to a southern state with a very small sum of money, rented a guesthouse, and after purchasing articles which were absolutely necessary, I found I had only a few cents left. The man from whom I rented the house was a student of Christian Science, and I asked him to direct me to a Christian Science practitioner, which he did. The kind of love which heals and fulfills God's law of abundance I found reflected by this faithful, loyal student.

Supply began to come in ways that I could never have outlined or expected. Certainly at this period a verse from the Bible (Ex. 12:49), was proved: "One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you." Such an individual appeared at my door; he said he had no money, but he needed accommodation for the night. I felt it was God's answer for me to rent him a room. At noon the next day the man returned and paid his bill, which took care of our needs. Supply continued to come in this way for several weeks, and when the season opened I was able to fill my house with guests. Five years later I was in a position to make a substantial payment on the house, and it has since been freed from indebtedness.
