About twenty-six years ago Christian Science came into my experience. I was dissatisfied with existence and had a gloomy outlook on life, but from my first reading of Science and Health by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and her other writings, I felt a joy and encouragement that have remained with me throughout the years.

While reading our Leader's writings, I was completely healed of rheumatism from which I had suffered for about ten years. Wet and cold days would always leave me in a mesmeric state of gloom, but this also was met and mastered by Science when I read what Mrs. Eddy says about weather—that it has no power over man and that we can be happy in all kinds of weather. A very bad condition of chapped hands, legs, and ankles was completely healed when I threw out all material remedies and relied on God alone. The healing has been permanent.

For many years I was troubled with sties; these have also disappeared through my study of Christian Science. A condition which greatly frightened me for some time and for which I eventually had to ask help from a Christian Science practitioner was healed in three days, although during this time the condition seemed to be worse. However, the thought that God was with me and that a practitioner was working for me greatly strengthened me, and I eventually had a complete healing.
