Bridgeton, New Jersey (Society).

Dedication services were held by Christian Science Society, Bridgeton, in their church edifice at 36 Bank Street on Sunday, February 18, 1951, in the morning and again in the afternoon. A short history of the society was read at each of these services.

Christian Science services were first started in Bridgeton in May, 1924, in the Bridgeton Business College on Broad Street. In September of that year the group moved to the ballroom of the Cumberland Hotel. After meeting there for about six years they moved to the Library Annex.

The group became a recognized branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, on May 29, 1940, thereafter being known as Christian Science Society, Bridgeton. In July of that year, needing a larger auditorium, the society moved to South Jersey Business College, at the corner of Washington and Bank Streets. Services were conducted there until the purchase of their present edifice at 36 Bank Street on March 10, 1944.
