REFLECTING TRUE KNOWLEDGE AND INTELLIGENCE

[Of Special Interest to Young People]

In Christian Science, freedom to express true intelligence, wisdom, understanding, and knowledge comes to the student as he realizes his inseparability from the ever-present divine Mind. When he perceives the fact that God is the source or author of every right idea, the belief that mortals are creators or originators disappears from his consciousness.

In the experience of every Christian Scientist comes the joyous opportunity of giving testimonies at the Wednesday testimony meetings. In committee work, chairmen are called upon to prepare reports that are read to the memberships of branch churches. The introducing of a Christian Science lecturer or the writing of an article for the periodicals of The Mother Church calls for intelligent expression and harmonious presentation of thought and word. Not only in church work, but in the fields of business, education, and government do individuals find it necessary to present their thoughts in a lucid manner.

To demonstrate his dominion over the limitations that mortal belief would impose upon him, the student of Christian Science rejects every erroneous argument that would enter his consciousness. Mary Baker Eddy so completely understood man as the perfect idea of divine Mind that she was able to define man on page 475 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" in part as "that which possesses no life, intelligence, nor creative power of his own, but reflects spiritually all that belongs to his Maker."
