NO CURSE—ONLY BLESSING

At dawn dark clouds sometimes gather at the eastern horizon. But gently and effortlessly the rising sun, with its vivid radiance, colors these clouds with indescribable hues of beauty. There is no struggle, no opposition, no accusation, no rivalry, but the sun's rays reach out, blessing the earth and robing it in glowing splendor. Viewing such a scene, one catches a glimpse of God's loving nature. The rhythm of Spirit is apparent. We feel the beauty of Soul and understand somewhat the kindliness and purity of Love.

Man, created by God, lives to bless and be blessed. This is a law of love, God's divine nature. All around us we may see the effects of this law in acts of love and kindness, in exquisite blossoms, beautiful sunsets, singing birds, trees laden with fruit. The life of Jesus showed us the Father and His divine nature. Mary Baker Eddy labored many years to give us her revelation and discovery, Christian Science, and to establish on earth this holy Cause. These manifestations of "God with us" speak of His law of blessedness, love, order, rhythm, harmony. God never told His creation that it was sick or in trouble. These suggestions spring from the counterfeit, or mortal, mind. Any suggestion of the imperfection of God's man and the universe is but a perishable sense of the imperishable.

Christian Science is teaching its followers that they are the blessed sons and daughters of God. God did not create mortals, because He is immortal Life. God is Love, and His disposition is to bless. His Mind, the only Mind, is the divine consciousness, which man reflects. There is no enemy, no curse, no opposition, in this divine consciousness, for its origin is Principle, Love. There are only selflessness, purity, grace, blessings, beauty, and good in Mind. "To good, evil is never present; for evil is a different state of consciousness. It was not against evil, but against knowing evil, that God forewarned. He dwelleth in light; and in the light He sees light, and cannot see darkness." says Mrs. Eddy on page 367 of "Miscellaneous Writings."
