It was for the healing of stomach...
It was for the healing of stomach ulcers that I turned to Christian Science about sixteen years ago. My family physician had informed me there was nothing that he or material science could do to cure this ailment permanently. The cause, he said, was mental; hence I must drive worry, fear, and discord out of my mind. But how to do this he could not explain.
Since I was quite young and had been in good health until that time, I refused to accept the verdict that I could not be cured, I knew little about God, but I prayed to be shown what to do.
Shortly thereafter, while discussing a book on psychology with a friend, I asked what he knew of Christian Science. He directed me to a Christian Science Reading Room, where an attendant lovingly answered my questions. I purchased a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and started immediately to study it.
