It is with sincere and humble...

It is with sincere and humble gratitude for the many blessings I have experienced through a small understanding of Christian Science that I write this testimony. I have had many healings of physical ailments; also lack was replaced with abundant supply of every needful thing, and a home was provided when the housing shortage seemed most prevalent and when, because of my work, it was necessary for me to be transferred from one city to another during the recent war period. All these blessings came as the result of obedience to and application of Christian Science.

One morning in the winter I had occasion to go down a flight of sixteen or seventeen steps to the laundry. The steps were covered with new snow, under which ice had formed. I had gone down five or six steps when suddenly I slipped and fell to the bottom. Immediately I heard, as though a voice had spoken, "God is right here; get up and walk." I obeyed the command. Then came the angel thought in the words, "O gentle presence, peace and joy and power," from a poem written by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy (Poems, p. 4). I began singing the words and went about my business.

Later I returned and climbed up the flight of steps with little difficulty. Although there was discoloration of the body, there was very little discomfort from the experience, and this disappeared entirely within a few hours. The discoloration was completely gone within a week. This was to me a beautiful proof of God's protection and loving care of His children as promised in the Psalms (91:11): "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."
