My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science was of nervous exhaustion and severe headaches. I was examined by a doctor and advised to give up my business and live in seclusion, which I did for a while, but I did not regain my health.

Then I met a former business acquaintance, and he told me that his wife, who I knew had been paralyzed, had been healed through Christian Science. I became interested and found that there was a Christian Science practitioner in a nearby city, and I went to see him. He told me about God and explained how healings take place when the truth is understood and applied. He gave me a new understanding of God as Love. He recommended that I go to a Reading Room and secure a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

I began to read, beginning with the Preface, and when I had read through the chapter on Prayer, I felt suddenly changed and happy and had a wonderfully peaceful night. The next day I walked down-street with my head erect, and I felt freer than I had in many years. I knew I had found what I had been waiting for, and I regained my desire to live. I was completely healed and for thirty-two years have enjoyed a happy, useful life. I am grateful for many other healings I have experienced in Christian Science. — Howard G.
