JESUS WALKED THE SEA

THE men of Aran match the sea with pride;
A skillful struggle theirs with storm and wave,
As wind and water on the bare cliffs lower,
To launch their sturdy boats upon the tide.
Contenders with the sea they dare to brave,
But never conquerrivals of its power.

But now behold the mastery of the man
Who walked the waves and spoke to wind and sea
Till they were stilled. He saw no foe to fight;
Though wild and dark the swirling waters ran,
He knew the power of Christ-majesty,
Which lays upon all seas subduing might.
