An aunt brought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy into our home in the year 1915, and it was my father who first became interested. When my mother saw how much this religion meant to him, she started attending the church services too. When this truth was opened up to me, I knew that I had at last found God.

I have had two outstanding healings in my experience. The first was a case of running eczema behind my ears. This was my first real healing in Christian Science, and one that was accomplished by my own consecrated prayers to God. The condition took several months to heal, and I became so engrossed in study, in the realization of the true concept of God and my relationship to Him, that I never knew exactly when the healing took place. The error simply vanished.

About seven years ago, I passed through a crucial time. I suffered a general nervous breakdown, and it took several months to regain my normal strength. I seemed to travel in darkness for weeks, but my faith sustained me and kept telling me to keep on going, never doubting, and eventually I would emerge into the understanding of God as the only reality, which I did, and the healing has been permanent.
