For the many proofs of God's loving care, I am deeply grateful. I know that God guided my father in placing my brother, sister, and me in The Mother Church Sunday School as small children when we moved to Boston after the passing on of our mother. Several years later, at our father's sudden passing, it was Christian Science that cared for us materially and spiritually. There were many legal difficulties, but through the help of the Sunday School superintendent, whose warm love will ever be remembered, we remained in the care of our foster mother.

Words can never express our gratitude for the unselfish love and tenderness of this dear mother. At that time she did not know much about Christian Science, but encouraged us to make practical use of the lessons learned in the Sunday School in our schoolwork and daily experience. I am happy to say that not a day was missed in my school activity because of illness.

Through the consecrated work of a loving practitioner, our foster mother was healed of a nervous breakdown; she continued to grow in her understanding of Christian Science and became a member of The Mother Church. We were beautifully sustained when she went from our sight several years ago. Through the work of a practitioner, it became so clear to us that what we love are the Godlike qualities which she expressed, and these are undying.
