Many years ago, when I was suffering from severe stomach and bowel disorders and was greatly worried about my physical condition, Christian Science was lovingly offered to me by a friend. At first, unable to appreciate that "with God all things are possible," I refused to give it any consideration and scoffed at the many good things that were said about its healing and regenerating power.

Finally, when my physical condition became alarming and physicians could offer me nothing more than the continual use of medicines and drugs for the rest of my life, I started reading a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Alter a number of days of reading, I suddenly realized that the physical disturbances were gradually disappearing. There was no further need for the various drugs and medicines that I had been using, and in a short time I was entirely free of all illness. Continual drugging and the fears that go with such evils dropped away, and I realized that I was again enjoying a normal, healthy existence. Dining that period I was healed also of the smoking and drinking habits of many years' standing. How truly Mrs. Eddy's inspired words on page 166 of Science and Health apply to my case: "Failing to recover health through adherence to physiology and hygiene, the despairing invalid often drops them, and in his extremity and only as a last resort, turns to God."

Since then there have been other healings—physical, moral, and financial—often through my own work and study of the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy, at other times through the loving help and support of Christian Science practitioners, whose faithful metaphysical work has helped me overcome lack, fear, and distress.

I am deeply grateful for the many healings and the great spiritual uplift that I have experienced through Christian Science. As I progressed in my study and application of this Science, it became increasingly clear to me that, as Mrs. Eddy states on page 167 of Science and Health, "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." I am very grateful for membership in our beloved Mother Church and in a branch church and for the happy privilege of serving; also for class teaching. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to God for His Christ and for Mrs. Eddy's revelation of the healing Christ to this age through Christian Science.—George White, New York, New York.
