Skin disease cured through complete reliance on Truth

I wish to express sincere gratitude for having been brought up in a Christian Science home and having the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School. Since a small boy I have studied Mrs. Eddy's writings.

As I grew up, however, I found myself faced with many problems, one of which was a very irritating skin disease which kept me awake nights with almost continuous itching. Although I wanted very much to be healed in Christian Science, I followed the persistent advice of friends and purchased medicine for this condition. Upon retiring that night, I placed the medicine at my bedside to be used in case I had trouble going to sleep. I did have trouble getting to sleep, and the temptation to use the medicine was almost irresistible. I remembered other healings I had received in Christian Science and thought surely this time could be no exception, since "with God all things are possible" (Matt. 19:26). With this in mind I arose, threw the medicine away, and returned to bed, declaring God's allness and man's perfection as His image and likeness.

Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says in Science and Health (p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." This was what I needed, "radical reliance on Truth." I went to sleep in a few moments and slept soundly till morning. I knew I was healed. In a few days all evidence of the disease had completely disappeared.
