Home securely established. Educational needs met
The one guiding, strengthening, uplifting influence which has governed my life since childhood has been and is Christian Science.
I am grateful that my mother was receptive to this truth when I was a small child. I started attending a Christian Science Sunday School when I was about four years of age. Many times during those precious Sunday School hours some great truth dawned with sudden clarity, and I went away rejoicing in my new-found understanding. The trials, heartaches, and disappointments which seem to come with what mortal mind calls "growing up," I met with absolute conviction that Christian Science would show me the way to solve them, and it always did.
The supreme test came when my mother passed on, and we were forced to give up our home. As our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says in the textbook, Science and Health (p. 574), "The very circumstance, which your suffering sense deems wrathful and afflictive, Love can make an angel entertained unawares." This was proved true, for when I turned implicity to the truth which Christian Science teaches us, I could perceive more clearly that man never dies because Life is eternal, and that God is indeed our only real Mother. I learned, too, in a measure, that the only home I have is in consciousness, where God, good, is ever present.
