Christian Science Committees on Publication PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF OUR SCHOOL CHILDREN

[From annual reports]

Colorado

Every college and university in Colorado now requires an X-ray examination upon entering. Although there is no state law supporting such action, authorities claim they have the right in the interests of safeguarding the health of the student population from possible communicable disease. Christian Science young people should be encouraged, even so, to request exemption when filing their entrance applications. Such action will increase the number of protests to this requirement.

Compulsory health instruction in public schools continues to increase in some parts of Colorado and in some grade levels. Exemptions gained are proving helpful in gaining exemptions elsewhere. Requests for exemption from compulsory health instruction should be made by parents at every opportunity.
