Hot weather proved powerless; stomach trouble overcome

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth" (Ps. 121:1, 2). When confronted with a problem of any kind, I have learned to look to God for help, and I have always received it.

Several years ago, a short time after I took up the study of Christian Science, we were having what seemed to be an extremely hot period during the summer. One morning I was so overcome by exhaustion that I could not raise my arms. I knew that I could find in Christian Science release from my difficulties. My Bible and Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scripture" by Mary Baker Eddy, were on my bedside table, and I made several unsuccessful efforts to get them. Feeling confident that if I could but get the textbook and read some of its strengthening lines my problem would be met, I made one more effort, procured the book, opened it, and read for perhaps half an hour. At the end of that time I was completely free and arose and went about my tasks with strength and an enlightened understanding and confidence to look away from the body and up to God, from whom "cometh my help," as the Bible says.

I am sincerely grateful to Mrs. Eddy for giving us this wonderful Science and grateful to God for many healings. At one time I was suffering from frequent contractions of a stomach muscle which a physician said would take six weeks to overcome. The trouble was healed in one day with the help of a practitioner.
