In the words of the Psalmist,...
In the words of the Psalmist, "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done,... if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered." This has indeed been my experience since I became a student of Christian Science about thirteen years ago.
At that time I was suffering from a severe kidney trouble which had recurred again and again over a period of years. I had been under medical treatment and confined to my bed for many weeks without any improvement in my condition, and I was in despair of ever being cured. My sister had recently heard of Christian Science and suggested that she should approach a practitioner on my behalf. This I agreed to as a last resort. I was given absent treatment, and the result was truly wonderful. I regained health and strength in a very short time, and for several months I felt as though I walked on air. I have never forgotten the inspiration this first healing brought me, and many times the recollection has helped sustain me when other problems have not yielded so promptly.
Subsequently I went through a period of what seemed to be utter chaos. Many ills arose, including lack and unhappiness, which culminated in a case of consumption. This did not yield quickly, but many valuable lessons were learned, and as I gradually discerned something of the spiritual nature of man. I was completely healed. For the help of practitioners during this time I shall always be grateful. This healing was so complete that during the war period I was enabled to take full-time employment, run my home, and take some small part in church activities.
