"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." These words from Revelation 3:20 always remind me of the first and second times that I heard the Christ knock. The first time I opened the door only a little way and closed it again. The second time I opened it wide and gladly received and supped with the Christ, Truth.

I knew nothing about Christian Science except that there were folks who were called Christian Scientists and I had a friend who was one. Having been a registered nurse for seven years before my marriage, I was very conscious of diseases and alert to symptoms.

About fourteen years ago I went with a brother to a distant town where he was to have an operation. Sympathy for my brother caused me great mental agony, which was manifested in the form of severe headache. I was to return home by bus, and since there was a change of busses in the town where my Christian Science friend lived, I made arrangements to stop with her overnight.
